SRS (Software Radio Systems) is an Irish SME focused on the development of trusted open software for mobile wireless networks. As an organically-grown employee-owned company, SRS has grown through commercial deployments of our RAN software solutions, and through engagements in publicly funded R&D programmes in the USA and Europe.
Through our open-source software suites (www.srsran.com), we’re unique in providing RAN solutions for both 4G and 5G to the R&D community under the AGPLv3 license.
What is your organization’s role in the project? What unique contribution does it bring to the team?
SRS brings srsRAN Project, our O-RAN native 5G CU/DU solution, to 5G-STARDUST. The srsRAN Project is a scalable, portable and highly customizable RAN solution that allows our partners to explore the potential of NTN within the scope of the project.
Why is this project important for your organization?
5G-STARDUST offers SRS the opportunity to develop its NTN capabilities with the support of other domain experts. The project has a mix of operators, vendors and academics who are each bringing and sharing unique experiences and insights that will help us along our NTN journey.
